So I got engaged this holiday!

And as such, I need to lose a lot of weight in a hurry, because I would like to be in a size 6 wedding dress. And that's not going to happen without some serious dieting and some serious working out. So starting tomorrow, I'm getting back on the diet, and hopefully trying harder to keep better track of what I eat and how much I work out, so that I can monitor my progress.

Monday, October 11, 2010

Monday, October 11, 2010

Ugh, off the wagon I went again. Well, I'm back... I would like to be mad skinny before I go home for Thanksgiving Break, so that I'm not super fat when seeing old friends.

And I'm still going to Planet Fitness 3-4 times a week. So hopefully that is helping!

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Alright, so back to the calorie counting and hopefully more exercising. Boyfriend is convinced that he can drop 30 lbs in 100 days. I am convinced that I can drop 30 lbs faster than boyfriend. And I am nothing, if not competitive. So today I consumed 1300 calories, and I weigh 185 lbs.

Breakfast:
Banana
Fiber One Strawberry Yogurt Yoplait,
Mid-morning snack:
Good Sense Dried Pineapple
Lunch:
Weight Watchers Smart Ones Three Cheese Ziti Marinara
Afternoon Snack:
Carrot Sticks
Dinner:
Campbell's Soup at Hand Creamy Tomato
Red Lead Lettuce Salad with Chicken & Thousand Island Dressing
Rye Toast with Olivio
Dessert:
Grapefruit w/out sugar

All I have to say is I am SOOOOO hungry. And instead of eating, I'm just drinking water or green tea every time I am hungry. It's a sad, sad existence. I also went for a walk on my lunch at work today, so there's 10 minutes of light cardio to add to my life. I also got some energy vitamins and weight loss vitamins, I'm taking one of each every day. And a bunch of sugar-free coffee! It's a good start!

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Well, still writing. And still fat. Not majorly depressed today, so let's just call it even.

Breakfast:
Coffee
Banana
Sun flower seeds

Lunch:
Chicken salad croissant
Cashews
Dried Pineapple

Dinner:
JalapeƱo Pizza
Cinna Sticks

If not for the take-out for dinner, it would have again been an acceptable day. Portion control was better during the day today. No exercise still though. Really, REALLY, REALLY need to get into some.

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Still writing. That's a plus. Still fat. That's a minus. Still working too much and not getting out of my cycle. Another minus. Looks like we end up in the negative. Bah!

Breakfast:
Coffee
Banana

Lunch:
Tuna fish sandwich
Cashews
Dried Pineapple

Dinner:
Grilled Strip Steak
Corn

Minus the fact that I ate WAY too many cashews and dried fruit today, if I had stuck to healthy portions, today would have been a good day. But my body can put away a surprising amount of food, and my head does not always stop it from doing so.

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Well, still writing, but still not dieting. I'm literally depressed with how fat I am each morning, and yet so depressed and tired on the whole that I don't really do anything about it. Circle of depression and fat. Bah. I'm hoping that writing may pull me out of it.

Breakfast:
Coffee
Banana

Lunch:
Tuna fish sandwich
Cashews

Dinner:
Pepperoni Pizza

No exercise, I really should get into the habit of taking a walk at lunch at work, but we've just been so swamped and ridiculous that I feel bad if I take more time than it takes to swallow a sandwich at my desk and keep on chugging.

Monday, August 23, 2010

Monday, August 23, 2010

So I went to the shore for the weekend and forgot to blog. Bad Mae, bad bad Mae. Anyway, I ate a LOT of crap at the shore over the weekend, because that's what one does on vacation, eat crap. But now I'm back to the office, and what should be some regulated intake of food, except for the fact that I'm used to being fat. Bah!

Breakfast:
Coffee

Lunch:
Papa John's Breadsticks

Dinner:
Peanut Butter on Toast

Man, I think my eating habits are getting worse. It also does not help that work has us on 10 hour days. Plus I have an hour commute, and a girl does need to sleep some times. So there's no chance at exercise. Bah. Must find more time in the day.

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Day 4 of remembering to write down what I ate, although its also day 4 of stressing out over work, and eating too many calories to combat stress and depression.

Breakfast:
Coffee

Lunch:
Burger & fries

Dinner:
Garlic bread sticks & cinna-sticks!

Too much take out and way too little exercise, must take up running and dieting, must stop stressing and sleeping too much. Ugh.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Day 3 of consistency. Nice.

Breakfast:
Coffee

Lunch:
Leftover toterllini & garlic bread

Dinner:
Pizza - 2 slices pepperoni

No exercise again, and I meant to eat better for dinner, but I got out of work very late and just begged Marc to grab take-out. *Sigh* I must get better at this

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Ok, at the very least, at least I've got two blog days in a row!

Breakfast:
Oatmeal
Coffee w/Splenda

Lunch:
Salad & One Crab Sushi Roll

Dinner:
Leftover Tortellini & Garlic Bread w/Olivio

Still no exercise, because work has been CRAZY. Need to get less fat. And stat!

Monday, August 16, 2010

Monday, August 16, 2010

Alright, I really do have to get back with the program here. Because I tried to put on one of my old "fat skirts" this morning, and even it wouldn't fit. Bah!

Breakfast:
Oatmeal
Coffee w/Splenda

Lunch:
Salad w/Chicken & Apples

Dinner:
Tortellini & Garlic Bread w/Olivio

No exercise currently, which I have to switch up, but I've been working extra hours, because things have been hectic at work, so it is hard to fit in.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Monday, July 12, 2010

For those of you who don't know, I turned 27 on July 6th. New year, new me. I've been slacking off on both the dieting and the blogging about it. I know that I do not want to stay fat forever, but it is hard to get motivated, because let's face it: I love food, and I kinda of hate exercising.

Today I ate

Breakfast
1 packet Quaker Oatmeal

Lunch
Leftover chicken and pasta

Dinner
Spaghetti and meatballs

Dessert
100 Calorie YoPlait Caramel Yogurt

If I were 16 with a high metabolism, this wouldn't be bad. But I'm 27, and due to personal life problems have been eating like a cow and laying around like an even lazier cow for the last month. I'm blogging again in an effort to make some change, ANY change, in hope that by starting the change snowball, other things will flow with it.

Friday, May 21, 2010

Friday, May 21, 2010

Alright, so I completely fell off the blogging wagon. But, the South Beach Diet first two weeks thing worked. I am down to to 175 lbs! If I throw some exercise in the mix, I might be able to get down to 170 lbs by the cruise. Which leaves June 3. So two more weeks.

I'm on stage two of South Beach, where I can incorporate whole grains and fruits, so I'm no longer subsiding on merely vegetables and meat, which also makes me happy.

I'm hopefully going to start listing my foods again next Monday (as well as going walking on EVERY lunch break since the weather is nice), so welcome me back!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Ok, new plan. I'm going to try this South Beach Diet. It goes in phases. For phase 1, I can only have vegetables, meat, eggs, nuts and skim dairy for 2 weeks. It is supposed to restructure the way I eat, and can kick up to 13 pounds. So I'm hopeful.

Weight today = 180 Calories today = no longer tracking calories per say, just not eating carbs, fruit, sugar or pretty much anything that tastes good.

Breakfast:

1 Cup Skim Milk
3 Slices Turkey Bacon
1 Pickle

Mid Morning Snack:
2 Slices Skim Pepperjack Cheese

Lunch:
Salad - mixed lettuces & spinach, cucumbers, red onions, red pepper vinaigrette

Mid Afternoon Snack:
Raw Veggies: Carrots, Broccoli, Zucchini

Dinner:
Perch filet
Cooked Green Beans & Broccoli
Raw Veggies: Green beans, green bell peppers, celery

Dessert:
Chili lime almonds
Pickles

Pickles are the greatest diet discovery ever. 5 calories a pickle, no fat, no carbs. I love em. I eat them like a pregnant woman would. I've also been trying to keep my veggies varied, consuming at least 10 different types a day, so that I don't get bored with the diet. And finally, since black coffee does not appeal to me, I've been slugging pomegranate green tea like it's my job. Its much sweeter than coffee and I hear it might help me lose more weight.

Now, I just need to find time to incorporate some exercise into my hectic, two job schedule. I was thinking of getting a pair of Sketcher Shape Ups ... has anyone heard anything about them?

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Ok, so didn't really fall off the wagon, but stopped writing because I was sick. I think I'm going to take a new tactic. My mom lost a bunch of weight on the South Beach Diet. So starting tomorrow, I'm going to give that a go. For the first two weeks, all I'm allowed to consume is lean meat and vegetables. It's probably going to make me miserable, but we'll see how it goes.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Ok, today, we again have plenty of groceries and good intentions, and I think it went quite well. I still think that I need to restrict hours at my second job so that I can get a gym schedule going on.

Weight today = 178 lbs, Calories consumed = 1300, Calories burned 80 Total calories = 1220 AWESOME!

Breakfast:

Apple
Dannon Light and Fit - Strawberry Banana

Mid Morning Snack:
Banana

Lunch:
Smart Ones - Swedish Meatballs

Mid Afternoon Snack:
Orange
Balance Bar, Mint Cookie

Dinner:
Smart Ones - Three Cheese Ziti

This was a rocking day all in all! All I have to do is add a gym to my routine and I will be kicking some weight off.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Ok, today, have plenty of groceries and good intentions, and I think it went quite well, minus the fact that I did not get any exercise in. I really think I need to restrict hours at my second job so that I can get a gym schedule going on.

Weight today = 178 lbs, Calories consumed = 1540

Breakfast:

Apple
Dannon Light and Fit - Strawberry Banana

Mid Morning Snack:
Banana

Lunch:
Smart Ones - Pasta with Ricotta & Spinach

Mid Afternoon Snack:
Orange
Balance Bar, Mint Cookie

Dinner:
Salmon w/Smokey Maple Rub
Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes
Sweet Corn

All in all, not a bad day, could have done with some more exercise, but life goes on.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

RECIPE - Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes

4 medium-large sweet potatoes
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup Olivio
Olive Oil

Directions:
1 - Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2 - Place tin foil over one of the racks in the oven (so potatoes don't drip while baking)
3 - Thoroughly clean the sweet potatoes
4 - Poke holes in sweet potatoes with fork (so they won't burst in the oven)
5 - Lightly cover sweet potatoes in olive oil
6 - Bake for 30 minutes
7 - Let cool, till the sweet potatoes can be touched
8 - Cut each sweet potato in half
9 - Scoop out insides, place into bowl with skim milk and olivio
10 - Use potato masher to mash
11 - Scoop mixture back into potato skins
12 - Continue baking at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes
13 - Remove and enjoy!

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Sunday, April 18, 2010

So, I fell off the wagon again. I had a road trip spanning Syracuse, Fredonia, and Rochester, so I basically just ate whatever was in front of me for four days.

My mom says she started the South Beach Diet, and lost 5 pounds between Monday and Friday, I might give that a go and see how it goes. With it, you can eat however many calories you want supposedly, as long as they are not carbs.

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Alright, having groceries certainly makes dieting easier.

Weight today 178 lbs. Calories consumed = 1550, calories burned = 140 calories ... overall calories = 1410 = AWESOME!

Breakfast:
Banana (well actually half of it, cause half of it was REAL bruised)
YoPlus Light Yogurt, Honey Vanilla

Mid Morning Snack:
Balance Bar, Mint Chip

Lunch:
Healthy Choice, Pumpkin Squash Ravioli

Mid Afternoon Snack:
Orange

Dinner:
Salad: spinach, red leaf lettuce, roasted chicken, tomato, onion, almonds, 1000 island dressing
Healthy Choice French Onion Soup - with low fat croutons & low fat cheese
2 slices Pepperidge Farm 15 Grain Double Protein Bread w/Olivio

After dinner snack:
Weight Watchers Chocolate Mousse Popsicle

I have to stay, I'm still raving about the Weight Watchers popsicle. It tastes like REAL chocolate fudge, and has a whopping 60 calories. It's definitely one of my favorites. I managed to go for a walk after work today, and do 20 situps and 10 push ups. I didn't catch the walk at work lunch, because things were HOPPING at work, and I pretty much ate at my desk while working through lunch.

I think I need to join a gym so that I can jog on an elliptical, jogging on pavement hurts my ankles.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Ok, groceries purchased, eating habits doing better because of having more food.

Weight today 178 lbs. Calories consumed = 1700, calories burned = 180 calories

Breakfast:
Banana
YoPlus Light Yogurt, Honey Vanilla

Mid Morning Snack:
Balance Bar, Mint Chip

Lunch:
Healthy Choice, Creamy Basil Pesto
100 Calories of Pepperidge Farm Crackers

Mid Afternoon Snack:
Orange

Dinner:
Salad: spinach, red leaf lettuce, roasted chicken, tomato, onion, almonds, 1000 island dressing
Cambpell's Tomato Soup
2 slices Pepperidge Farm 15 Grain Double Protein Bread w/Olivio

After dinner snack:
10 Townhouse Crackers

Ok, so although I ate more calories than I do on some of my junk food days, I feel like they are better calories to have consumed overall. Complex carbs and veggies and what have you. ALSO, I finally did get some exercise in today. I went for a 20 minute walk on my lunch break, a 10 minute walk after work, and I hoe-ed up my entire garden patch, which took me 15-20 minutes. According to Spark People, this burned me approx 180 calories, leaving me at 1520 calories for the day. Which is not too shabby. I'm looking forward to getting some exercise in tomorrow as well. And eating diet food again. Yay for commitment, boo for swim suit season getting even closer.

Monday, April 12, 2010

Monday, April 12, 2010

Alright, today did not go so well, because I did not have groceries.

Weight 178 lbs - still, because I am a lazy, lazy lazykins.
Calories 1500 - but a bunch of them were junk calories

Breakfast
Pepperidge Farm Crackers - 140 calories of them.

Lunch
2 Baja Fish Tacos from Taco Bell / Long John Silvers
4 Hush Puppies from Taco Bell / Long John Silvers

Dinner
Top Round Steak - Grilled
Alexia Select Sides - Chipotle Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Black Beans & Corn

Dinner was by far the tastiest meal today. The Alexia sides are amazing, and not all that bad for you either. I really did mean to exercise today, but I got caught late at my first job and it was 7pm before I knew it. So I just got some steaks and headed home. And I had a whopper of a headache, so I just headed to bed early. However, early bedtimes do prevent me from late night snacking, which is good.

Friday, April 9, 2010

RECIPE - Slimming Sunrise Smoothies

Alright, here is another recipe. This one is for Slimming Sunrise Smoothies! It is a fabulous recipe for breakfast, getting a bunch of fruit into that would otherwise take quite awhile to eat. And it's low in calories, at roughly 240 calories per 8 oz smoothie.

Ingredients:

1 cup chopped strawberries (5 large strawberries)
1 cup chopped seeded watermelon
1 cup chopped peach (1 large peach)
1 cup sorbet (raspberry, strawberry or mixed berry all work well)
1/4 cup orange juice (low or no pulp varierty preferable)

Directions:

1 - Place all ingredients in blender
2 - Pulse blend a few times to get ingredients stirred up
3 - Blend on med-high until ingredients become smooth
4 - More juice can be added if desired to make smoothie less thick
5 - Pour smoothies into cups and enjoy!

(Smoothies can also be frozen into popsicles!)

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Ok, again today, I am shocked that my calorie count is so low, because I just ate crap all day long. I really do need to get to the grocery store, so that I can get healthy calories and carbs into me.

Weight = 178 lbs. Calories today = 1550

Breakfast:
Dunkin Donuts Everything bagel w/margarine
Dunkin Donuts Coffee with milk and splenda

Lunch:
Taco Bell Baja Fish Tacos
Hush Puppies

Mid Afternoon Snack:
100 Calories Pepperidge Farm Cheesy Crackers

Dinner:
12 Chicken Wings, Honey Garlic & Mild Flavored

Again, no exercise. Again, I blame this on the two jobs and being tired. However, the being tired has once again saved me from the late night snacking. Mmmmm sleep, tastier than food some nights. I do really have to start exercising though, because I go on a cruise on June 3, 2010, and I want to be skinny, blond, and tan. But then, doesn't everyone?

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Ok, today I thought was just going to be a crapshoot, because I have not bought groceries and pretty much had to purchase breakfast and lunch. However, eating crap all day pretty much got me less calories than the copious amounts of food I've been eating while dieting. However, probably not as much nutritional value, so I probably still lose in the long run.

Weight Today = 178 lbs; Calories Today = 1450

Breakfast:
Dunkin Donuts Everything bagel w/margarine
Dunkin Donuts Coffee with milk and splenda

Lunch:
Chicken Salad Wrap w/ Tomato and Roasted Red Peppers
Small side Macaroni Salad

Mid Afternoon Snack:
100 Calories Pepperidge Farm Cheesy Crackers

Dinner:
Sweet Potato Fries with Salt

I just felt sick when I went home today, so I went to sleep. I got up later and heated up some sweet potato fries, cause they were easy to make and looked good. Then I went back to sleep. So again, no late night snacking, due to my intense desire to get more sleep. Still no exercising, though, and that is not good for my calorie count or my need to actually start losing weight.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Alright, today was actually ok. Minus dinner, which was 800 calories, which was the calorie total for EVERYTHING else I ate today. But I was tired when I got home from work, and Marc had already purchased a pepperoni pizza from Price Chopper, so I just ate what was put in front of me, instead of making myself a salad.

Weight 178 lbs. Calories 1600

Breakfast:
Yogurt - YoPlus Honey Vanilla
Strawberries

Midmorning Snack:
Balance Bar, Mocha Chip
Banana

Lunch:
Healthy Choice Grilled White Meat Chicken & Roasted Red Pepper Alfredo Sauce
100 Calories of Pepperidge Farm Crackers

Midafternoon Snack:
Apple

Dinner:
Pepperoni Pizza from Price Chopper

Managed to stay away from the night time snacking, which is good. But this was because, I was pretty much exhausted and went straight to bed. Still haven't managed to swing exercise into the groove, but I blame this on the two jobs, and my complete and utter lack of time to myself.

Monday, April 5, 2010

Monday, April 5, 2010

Ok, so we've pretty much established that I'm a week-day dieter. Which, if I were able to exercise, I might actually lose some weight.

Weight - 178 lbs, Calories 1800 (a little higher than I would like, but under 2000)

Breakfast
Yoplait Yo plus vanilla yogurt
Banana

Mid Morning Snack
Orange

Lunch
California Roll
3 Pieces Salmon Sashimi
Oyster Crackers
Price Chopper Lobster Bisque - small cup

Mid Afternoon Snack
Balance Bar - Chocolate Mint Crunch
Apple

Dinner
Carrots
Light Life Veggie Masala

After Dinner Snack
Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain 15 Grain Double Protein w/Olivio & Garlic

Today, I just couldn't seem to eat enough food, I was starving all day long. It's a good thing I was stocked up on low calorie options so that I didn't have a 3500 calorie day. Lunch was probably a bit too heavy, but there was lobster bisque available at Price Chopper, and it's one of my favorites, so I had it in addition to my sushi. I wanted to go for a walk on my lunch at work today, but the weather has been rainy, so I don't want to get drenched. Maybe tomorrow it will be nicer.

Friday, April 2, 2010

RECIPE - Kicken Honey Glazed Pork Chops

Ok, I thought I would share with you all, a recipe I love that helps make dieting not suck so much. These are are my Kickin Honey Glazed Porkchops ...

Ingredients:
4 Boneless Pork Chops
1 Cup Honey
2 TBSP Southwestern or Spicy Mustard
1 TSP Frank's Red Hot (or other hot sauce)

2 - Mix wet ingredients together in a small bowl
3 - Arrange pork chops in pan

9 - Remove and serve with sides and enjoy!

Best part about these pork chops. They're only 270 calories per serving! (A serving is one porkchop)

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Alright, had both jobs today and gave into a chocolate craving at the Depot. Did not get to exercise, but was on my feet for most of the night at the Depot.

Weight 178 lbs - Calories = 1650 - not too shabby

Breakfast
Yogurt - Dannon Lite and Fit - Strawberry
Balance Bar - Mint Cookie Crunch

Lunch
Healthy Choice - Butternut Squash and Pumpkin Ravioli
Carrots
100 calories of Pepperidge Farm Crackers

Dinner
Light Life Veggie Masala Meal
Orange
More Crackers
Twix Bar

After Dinner Snack
2 slices Pepperidge Farm Double Protein Whole Grain bread w/Olivio & Garlic

Sooooo my weight's still holding steady. Still need to exercise. Maybe now that the weather's getting nicer I will give it a go. Also, that Healthy Choice Ravioli soooooo much tastier than all the varieties that Smart Ones offers, I may start getting more of those. They are a little more expensive though, and I usually do not have coupons for them. Sadness :-(

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Ok, so today is somewhat better, because I was forced to go get some groceries yesterday, I tried to make a dinner that both Marc and I could eat without making him feel like I was forcing him to diet.

Weight 178 lbs - Calories = 1611 - not too shabby

Breakfast
Yogurt - Dannon Lite and Fit - Strawberry
Apple

Mid Morning Snack
Balance Bar - Mint Cookie Crunch

Lunch
Smart Ones - Pasta Primavera
Orange

Dinner
Reuben
Sweet Potato Fries (baked not fried)

Sooooo my weight's holding steady. Just need to throw some exercise into this mix so that I start losing weight.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Ok, so today is somewhat better, because I was forced to go get some groceries, because I have both jobs today.

Weight 178 lbs - Calories = 1505 (not bad!)

Breakfast
Apple

Lunch
Sushi
Ritz Crackers - 140 calories

Mid Afternoon Snack
Balance Bar

Dinner
Light Life Veggie Masala
Orange

After dinner snack
2 pieces Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Double Protein Bread w/Olivio & Garlic

Much better day than yesterday, still no weight loss, probably because of the fact that there is still no exercise. Apparently dieting for me can only maintain my weight ... so while I'm not getting fatter, I'm not getting skinnier either. Sadness.

Monday, March 29, 2010

Monday, March 29, 2010

Alright, today's not gonna be awesome, because I do not have a lot of groceries. And because we're going to the movies tonight.

Weight 178, calories - entirely too many

Breakfast
Banana

Lunch
Smart Ones: Pasta Primavera
Ritz Crackers - 140 Calories

Dinner
Taco Bell Quesadilla & Cheesy Potatos

After Dinner Snack
Movie Theatre Popcorn
Milk Duds

Man, crap day for diet all in all. No exercise either today. But I did get to see the love of my life, John Cusack in "Hot Tub Time Machine" ... which wasn't all that bad, but that's because I did not expect too much from it to begin with.

Sunday, March 28, 2010

Sunday, March 28, 2010

Fell off the wagon again. I did diet on Wednesday and Thursday, I just didn't keep track of what I ate. I definitely did not diet on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, because I went to NYC to visit some friends and see some folks who were in town from California. I had copious amount of fattening food and loved it. But I also did a ton of walking around the city, so I feel like that might make up for some of it.

Weight - 178 lbs. Calories - entirely too many.

Well, here's to hopefully being better from now on, as always.

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

I think I'm slacking, because I'm putting things off till next week, when my work and sleep schedule will finally be acceptable enough to get in some exercise. And because I plan on heading to NYC this weekend, and when you go out you have to eat whatever the heckfire you feel like.

Breakfast:
Apple
Dannon light and fit - strawberry

Mid morning snack:
Balance Bar - Sweet and Salty Peanut

Lunch:
Smart ones - Salisbury Steak w/mac and cheese
140 calories worth of Ritz crackers

Mid afternoon snack:
Carrots

Dinner:
Light Life Veggie Masala
Banana

After dinner snack:
Left over garlic bread

Minus the after dinner snacking it would have been a good day for the diet. But a crap day for exercise, but what else is new. I have to work each night this week at the job that keeps me on my feet, so that makes me feel slightly better than lying around at home on the couch. I will walk a bunch this weekend in the city, I look forward to that.

Monday, March 22, 2010

Monday, March 22, 2010

Alright, game on. I know I won't make it all the way through the diet tonight, because I planned a pasta dinner out, because it's the only day I don't have a double, and cooking one meal for Marc and myself is just easier sometimes. Weight = 178. Calories = somewhere in the 2200 range. And at work, I have started taking the long route to the bathroom, which involves an extra flight of stairs, so even though lunchtime exercise hasn't started yet, I feel like this may be helpful.

Breakfast:
Apple
Dannon Light and Fit Strawberry

Midmorning Snack:
Balance Bar - Carb Well caramel

Lunch:
Smart Ones: Chicken Broccoli Fettuccine Alfredo
Ritz Crackers - 140 calories worth
Banana

Midafternoon Snack:
Orange

Dinner:
Creamy Basil Pasta
Garlic Bread

Minus dinner, not a bad day. And there was no post-dinner snacking, because I was wicked tired and fell asleep at 9:00 pmwhat

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Ok, so I fell off the wagon on the weekend again. I'm trying to diet during the week, and eat what I want on the weekend so long as I work out on the weekend. Not so much working out this weekend, as I had a work party and work to attend, and I made a fondant cake of Homer for the Home Depot. He was super cute, perhaps I shall post a photo of him later. However, the work party also had tons of fattening foods, which I ate. However, I was paid to be there, so that was kind of neat.

I promise to be better this week. As always. I will get there though, spring is looming and purchasing a swim suit for my vacay scares me.

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Ok, back on the diet train. And consistently on the blogging train, so I have to get SOME points here. Weight, still 178, because my dieting skills lack consistency. Calorie count today 1479, which is FABULOUS! What is not so fabulous, is that I still have not gotten my crap together regarding grocery shopping and breakfast was a little lighter than it should have been.

Breakfast:
Dannon, Light & Fit Nonfat Strawberry Yogurt

Lunch:
Apple
California Roll
3 pieces sashimi, one tuna, one salmon one yellowtail

Mid Afternoon Snack:
Balance Bar, Carb Well Caramel

Dinner:
1 2oz bag of Cheese Its
Light Life Veggie Masala
Orange

After Dinner Snack:
Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain 15 Grain Hearty with Olivio

No exercise today, because I had to work pretty much full time at both jobs. Ah well. And I am really loving these Light Life indian food meals. They're super tasty. I really need to get my but in gear, because it is almost APRIL already and there is no significant weight loss. There are 75 days left until my vacation, and I basically need to lose a pound every 3 days. Plus a friend's wedding is in 70 days and it wouldn't hurt to look cute for that either, as there will likely be a bunch of photos taken.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

St. Patrick's day. It's my Irish heritage, so I ate well tonight. Which was possibly a poor decisio, because my weight is still 178, and my calorie intake was somewhere around 2500. Diet fail. But a happy St. Paddy's day.

Breakfast:
Apples
Dannon, Light & Fit Nonfat Strawberry Yogurt

Mid Morning Snack:
Balance Bar, Triple Chocolate

Lunch:
Weight Watchers Smart Ones Fettucini Alfredo with Chicken
Orange

Mid afternoon snack:
Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain 15 Grain Hearty Double Protein with Olivio

Dinner:
Chicken quesadilla
Cheesy bacon potato skins

Dinner was awesome, but way tooo many calories! I did get some Wii Fit in today, so there's the helpful benefit of exercise, but really, all in all today was too many calories, and even though there was some exercise, there was not enough.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Ok, today I missed breakfast because I have not gone grocery shopping. I've also been missing weighing myself for the past few days, because I really just do not want to know. But at lunch I went to go get all sorts of healthy food for the day .

Lunch:
Apple
Sushi - california roll and 3 crabstick pieces

Mid afternoon snack:
Balance Bar, Carb Well Caramel

Dinner:
Orange
Light Life Veggie Masala

After Dinner Snack:
Two slices Pepperidge Farm 15 grain, double protein toast w/olivio

Calorie Count, courtesty of Spark People = 1213 ... not freakin bad. No exercise today though, which is not as good.

Also, these Light Life vegetarian frozen meals, are actually quite tasty. It rivaled some of the Indian food I've had at restaurants, I will have to track down more coupons for those. I also need to start remembering to take my multi-vitamin daily. I've been forgetting about that. True, the Balance Bar, and the diet meals do usually get most of my vitamins into me, but I like to be extra careful. Nothing wrong with being a bit healthier.

I also really need to start doing some sort of exercise during my lunch break. It's hard, because it's so freaking busy at work at the moment. No more excuses though, I do need to start ditching pounds. Stat.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Monday, March 15, 2010

Another failed day. I managed to skip both breakfast and lunch today, existing on diet coke and water alone. This is because work got RIDICULOUSLY busy, and I didn't really even have time to breath, let alone think, let alone eat apparently.

Marc also managed to forget his mother's birthday! So we went out to dinner with her tonight, we went to Red Lobster, where I had pasta. I know I'm supposed to be cutting down on the carbs, but if I'm dining out, I may as well get what I love.

I also did not exercise today. A failed day. Boo.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Fell of the blogging and dieting wagons again today. Because of daylight savings, I slept much longer that intended, and upon waking, because I hadn't eaten all day, decided it was acceptable to go to the Chinese Buffet with Marc. Epic decision on my part. Tasty, tasty food, too many calories and loads of regrets. And I had ice cream afterwards, because if you're going to ditch the diet for a day, you may as well ditch it all the way.

Weight 178 - and we wonder why!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Ok, today was AWESOME. I only managed to consume 1050 calories. And because Marc and I had a tiff, I went straight to bed instead of having any late night snacks! At least fights with your boyfriend are good for something!

Weight today 178 lbs

Breakfast:
Dannon, Light & Fit Nonfat Strawberry Yogurt
Apple

Mid morning snack:
Balance bar - mocha

Lunch:
Carrots
Smart Ones Broccoli and Cheddar Roasted Potatoes,

Mid afternoon snack:
Banana

Dinner:
Orange
Smart Ones Fettucini Alfredo

No exercise today, because I worked both jobs. But I finally get what my mother says about your body just FEELING better when you are eating healthy. I'm less achy, and sore and more awake quite honestly. No lunch break work out yet, but I WILL get there!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Woot. Back again. Alright, here's the low down for today. According to Spark People, I consumed 1525 calories, but I also worked off 50 calories during my WiiFit time. Leaving me at 1475 for the day.

Weight today 178 pounds - but now with the calorie tracking, I know it will continue to go down!

Breakfast:
Apples,
Dannon, Light & Fit Nonfat Strawberry Yogurt
Balance Bar Trail Mix Chocolate Chip

Lunch:
Carrots, raw, 1 cup
Smart Ones Fettucini Alfredo,

Mid afternoon snack:
Banana

Dinner:
Salad: red leaf lettuce, spinach, tomato, onion, roasted chicken, almonds, 2 tbsp caesar dressing
2 pieces Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Double Protein bread, toasted w/olivio

After dinner snack:
Nabisco, 100 Calorie Packs, Cheese Nips Thin Crisps, 21 grams

Plus, I got on my Wii Fit and did some of my step routines and a little bit of my boxing today. And did the horizontal Irish jig, so BURNED some calories as well. I need to add some toning to my routine instead of just cardio too, and then I will be on my way to swim suit shape! And I really need to start the lunch time exercise, it's just been SOOOO busy though!

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Back on the boat. I must say, I also find Spark People quite useful in tracking what I eat. Plus it gives me a calorie total for the end of the day, and lets me know whether I am on track to make my goals or not. And it reminds me to drink enough water, etc. However, it divvies meals into b-fast, lunch, dinner, and snack... and I am trying to eat constantly throughout the day in small meals. But I do love the calorie counter. Today, I only consumed 1437 calories! Weight loss, here we come!

Weight Today 178 lbs - SLIGHTLY BETTER! WOOT!

Breakfast
Banana
Dannon, Light & Fit Nonfat Strawberry Yogurt

Mid morning Snack
Balance Bar - Caramel Nut Blast

Lunch
Smart Ones Broccoli and Cheddar Roasted Potatoes
100 Calorie Packs, Cheese Nips Thin Crisps

Mid Afternoon Snack
Carrot Sticks

Dinner
Orange
Smart Ones Three Cheese Ziti Marinara

After Dinner Snack
Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Bread - 2 slices with Olivio, toasted

All in all, not a bad day, it could have used more variety, a multi-vitamin and some exercise, but I had to work both jobs, so those things did not happen. Sadness. But I think with Spark People and the Wii Fit... I really should be able to get on track and be in swimsuit shape by swimsuit season!

Monday, March 8, 2010

Monday, March 8, 2010

Ok, I know one day I fell off the boat. I had a lot of fattening and greasy food on Sunday for lunch, because I just felt like I needed it. Having one day off the boat won't be so bad once I'm in the regular swing of dieting each day, because I hear that it will in fact boost my metabolism for a little while.

I've also picked up some multi vitamins, I'm trying to remember to take one each day so that my health and diet will continue to flourish.

Weight - 179 lbs - probably still this high due to yesterday's splurging

Breakfast
Activia Light Yogurt - raspberry

Mid morning snack
100 calorie snack pack - nip cheese

Lunch
Smart Ones - 3 cheese ziti

Dinner
Salad - red leaf lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber, roasted chicken, 1 tbsp 1000 island dressing
Soup - roasted red pepper soup
Toast - 2 slices whole grain extra protein bread - Pepperidge Farms

After dinner snack
Weight Watchers Chocolate Mousse popsicle

I know, I know, the first half of the day started out bad, because I was low on groceries, but I did go to the grocery store today, so that I would be stocked up for the rest of the week. I also did not get any exercise today, but I blame that on the grocery shopping, I was too tired after getting home from that and making one dinner for myself and another for Marc, who refuses to have soup and salad for dinner.

I also must say that the Weight Watcher popsicles are AMAZING. A serving is 2 of the things, and I only need 1 for a chocolate fix, and 1 only has 60 calories! I LOOOOOVE them!

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Well I think yesterday's dinner blew any chance of getting down a pound this week. Boo.

Weight - STILL 179 lbs

Breakfast
Smoothie - Activia light raspberry yogurt, banana, frozen strawberries, 1 cup lowfat milk
2 slices whole grain, extra protein toast

Lunch
Balance bar - chocolate raspberry

Dinner
Smart ones - Salisbury Steak
Carrot sticks

After dinner snack
6 chicken wings
100 calorie snack pack - cheese nips
Wine - 3 glasses

I would have really liked to avoid the after dinner food, but Marc had gotten take-out and the wings smelled soooooo tasty. And he had brought me wine, which after my long day, I drank. No exercise today, although I was running around the HD all day, so better than a day at the office on my rear end.

Friday, March 5, 2010

Friday, March 5, 2010

Now, I know I'm going to fall off the wagon tonight, because I have two birthday celebrations to go to, and one involves dinner out. And if I'm going to buy food at a restaurant, I am certainly not going to purchase the diet option.

Weight today 179lbs - still ick

Breakfast
Apple
Activia Light Yogurt - Raspberry

Lunch
Smart Ones - Pasta Primavera

Mid afternoon snack
Hot pretzel w/mustard (made fresh at the biergarten)

Dinner
Fig and Cheese plate
Bread
Coconut Curry Pasta (the small portion)
(All from New World Bistro - sooooo tasty!)

After dinner
6 beers - Bud light

A bad day for dieting, but a good day for birthdays, and tasty, tasty food. No exercise or yoga today, but I did buy batteries today to put in the Wii fit next week... so that should help the exercise situation.

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Thursday, March, 4, 2010

Ok, so today I did not feel well this morning, and stayed home from job one, and did some work for it at home. This resulted in meals being consumed later than they normally would.

Weight today - 179 lbs

Midmorning snack
Smoothie - banana, activia light yogurt - raspberry, 1/2 cup milk, frozen mixed berries

Lunch
Salad - red leaf lettuce, spinach, tomato, red onion, cucumber, roasted chicken breast, 1 & 1/2 tbsp 1000 island dressing
Soup - Butternet Squash
2 slices 12 grain toast, w/Olivio spread

Dinner
Smart Ones - Salisbury Steak
Carrot Sticks

After dinner snack
Orange

A SECOND complete day of diet. True, I was starving again all day long. BUT, I made it through. I did not get any exercise in, because I had to work at Home Depot at night... but at least the dieting is getting done. Just gotta keep it up and the weight will come off. Awesome!

I haven't been taking walks on work lunchtime yet either, although I think I may start up some yoga in my office during lunch. That's supposed to be healthy for you on all sorts of levels.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Alright. A-blogging and a-dieting we go. I've got a new plan now. I'm going to add today's weight to the mix, to try and show how dieting or not dieting is (and exercising or not exercising) is having a direct ratio to my weight. Yes it's a bit "Bridget Jones Diary" but whatever, I feel it may help.

Today - Weight = 179 lbs

Breakfast
Banana
Activia Fiber Yogurt - Peach and Cereal

Mid Morning Snack
Balance Bar - Carb Well

Lunch
Smart Ones - Ravioli Florentine

Afternoon snack
Orange

Dinner
Salad - red leaf lettuce, spinach, tomato, red onion, cucumber, roasted chicken breast, 1 & 1/2 tbsp 1000 island dressing
Soup - brocolli
2 slices 12 grain toast, w/Olivio spread

After dinner snack
100 Calorie snack pack - cheese nip

WOOT! A successful day of complete dieting! True, I was starving all day, and my yogurt tastes like chalk, and I probably needed a little more protein, but a whole day of dieting. Done. I'm on a roll.

I tried to exercise today readers, I did. I opened my new Wii Fit game, I set it all up, and the batteries on the Balance Board died. And my exercise clothing and shower status were not such that I could go outside. But I am purchasing new batteries soon. It's on.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Alright, still blogging, still staying fat. Boo.

Breakfast
Banana
Yogurt - Activia Fiber, peachs and cereal

Mid morning snack
Protein bar - Zone Perfect, Dark Chocolate Mocha

Lunch
Smart Ones - Chicken Enchiladas Suiza

Afternoon snack
Apple

Dinner
Chicken wings and cheese fries at Bombers

Dessert
One scoop Ben and Jerry's ice cream

I thought maybe the Activia yogurt with the cereal in it would taste somewhat better. Fail. Epic, epic FAIL! It did not taste better at all, still like chalk.

I couldn't help the fatty dinner folks, I went out with my sister, her husband and some of my girlfriends. I like hanging out with people and eating good food. But tomorrow, I swear, all diet food and some exercise to boot! It's GOING to happen. Cause my fat pants are snug. Boo!

Monday, March 1, 2010

Monday, March 1, 2010

Ok, so while the dieting has not kicked it up a notch yet, at least the recording of what I've been eating has been going better.

Breakfast
Orange

Mid morning snack
Protein Bar - Carb Well - Balance Bar

Lunch
Smart Ones - Tuna Noodle Gratin

Dinner
Chicken Francese with Pasta
Too many pieces of bread
Salad

After dinner
Sweet tarts

Ok, so I did not eat my disgusting yogurt today, couldn't help it... couldn't force myself to do it, and I also forgot to pack some veggies, because I'm out of plastic baggies. And I didn't eat my banana, because I just didn't want it... I'm going to have to do better at eating consistently tomorrow, and keeping my metabolism up!

Alright, so Marc and I both had the night off, so we went out to dinner. And I'm supposed to meet my sister for dinner tomorrow. However, I really need to get on this diet, because I got into my fat pants today, and my fat pants are tight. Which is NO GOOD. And it is now MARCH. And MARCH = springtime, and springtime = too soon to bathing suit time for comfort. MUST, MUST, MUST start exercising. Maybe I can go for a lunchtime walk each day at work. That might help. I know I won't today or tomorrow, because I am too busy and planned my day poorly. Maybe Wednesday. Yes, Wednesday will start the hardcore dieting and hardcore exercise. If I'm not behaving after Wednesday, yell at me!

Sunday, February 28, 2010

Sunday, February 28, 2010

Again, due to early work at the Depot, I skipped breakfast again.

Mid morning snack
Low fat wheat thins

Lunch
Smart Ones - Raviolis
Low fat wheat thins

Dinner
Sushi (from Price Chopper)
Papa Johns Cinna-pie

I would have done really well today but for the cinna-pie, but it's hard not to have it when Marc didn't finish it off, because it is SOOOO tasty! And again, no exercise, but two jobs wear this girl out! I did get to the grocery store today though, so I should have more healthy food for this upcoming week, which makes me happy. And I got the paper which has coupons for more diet foods! Double score!

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Ok, so I had to go to Home Depot incredibly early today, so breakfast was skipped, which I know is bad for both the diet and keeping the metabolism up, but some mornings, it can't be helped. Moving on...

Mid morning snack
Orange
Twix bars (at first I forgot I had the orange, so got something from the vending machine)

Lunch
Smart ones - fettuccine alfredo with broccoli
Carrot Sticks

Mid afternoon snack
Banana
Ritz Crackerfuls

Dinner
Papa johns pizza and cinna-pie

Ok, the day other than the dinner would have been fine, but Marc ordered take out, and it was just so much easier after a day of working, where I ended up having to stay late, because a girl got fired (for good reason) ... but they didn't really figure on replacing her hours till the last second, when they begged those of us who clearly need the money to stay. The other problem was that I ate dinner entirely too late. I'll try harder next week, I promise. And next week I plan on exercising more as well. I will beat myself into it eventually. And REALLY need to go food shopping.

Friday, February 26, 2010

Friday, February 26. 2010

Alright, we are really cooking now.

Breakfast
Activia Light Yogurt - Vanilla
Orange

Lunch
Smart Ones - Ravioli Florentine
Carrot Sticks

Afternoon snack
Ritz Crackerfuls
Banana

Dinner
Chicken Marsala (takeout, not home made)

All in all, not a bad day, dinner was eaten too late in the night, because I had to work both jobs, but what else is new? I really need to go get some groceries this weekend!

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Alright, back again.

Breakfast
Activia Light Yogurt - Vanilla
Apple

Lunch
Smart Ones - Salisbury Steak w/mac and cheese
Carrot Sticks

Dinner
Banana
Ritz Crackerfuls

After dinner (after job two)
Two slices of potato bread toast w/butter
Left over valentines day candy

This day was not as consistent as I would have liked. I forgot to pack dinner for between jobs, so I saved a bunch of my food to eat at dinner, and therefore was even hungrier when I got home. Thankfully, I was also so TIRED when I got home that I couldn't make a whole lot to eat. I need to pick up more protein bars and more salad stuff. But two jobs makes me too tired to grocery shop.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Alrighty! I'm at least on a roll with posting, even if my diet has not caught up to being daily today. Today it snowed so much that I was not able to go to work, so I was lazy around the house, I skipped breakfast and my mid morning snack, which I know was bad, because I should keep my metabolism going all day if I want to lose any weight. So here's food for the day.

Lunch
Left over home made penne a la vodka and garlic bread made with wheat bread

Dinner
Red Lobster - lobster stuffed tilapia, with baked potato and broccoli, salad and cheese biscuits

After dinner snack
White chocolate hot chocolate from Dunkin Donuts

Now, I realize this was not the healthiest day, but it snowed and we had no groceries. Plus I love me some Red Lobster. I know the biscuits were bad for me, but you should have seen my dinner, I think the cook was intentionally trying to clog my arteries. My potato had so much butter on it, that I had to pick half of it off. Which thrilled the man, cause he put it on his on his fish, and it also came with a little tub of butter that you would see with steamed clams, except, I had NO clams. I just had broccoli, which was steamed. I had no idea what it was for, until the man dumped it all over his broccoli. So I was more well behaved that I could have been, plus I did not eat the whole bit and had leftovers to boot.

No exercise today, but oh well. I might sign up for a cardio kickboxing class, where people will belittle me if I don't show up all the time.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Alright, day two back on the wagon. Let's keep it up!

Breakfast
Apple
Yogurt - Activia, vanilla

Lunch
Smart Ones - Chicken Enchiladas Suiza
Carrot Sticks

Mid Afternoon Snack
Banana
Ritz's Crackerfuls

Dinner
Left over penne a la vodka and garlic bread

After Dinner snack
Left over Valentine's Day Candy - 3 pieces

Again, a perfectly good day until we hit dinner, which destroyed the rest of the day. And the candy that needs to go. Again no exercise.... other than the horizontal Irish jig, if you catch my meaning. But sex is supposed to burn a phenomenal amount of calories. So hopefully that helped.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Monday, February 22, 2010

Well here I am, back on the wagon, and hopefully to stay this time! I know yesterday I said maybe my dieting skills were weaker in the winter, when I don't need to be in sundresses or swimsuits ... but that time is fast approaching whether I like it or not, so I need to get back in line here.

Breakfast
Yogurt - Fiber One, Strawberry
Banana

Mid Morning Snack
Protein Bar - Balance Bar Carb well

Lunch
Smart Ones - Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli

Mid Afternoon Snack
Orange
Ritz's Crackerfuls

Dinner
Home made penne a la vodka (home made sauce too!)
Garlic bread made with a wheat loaf

After dinner
Left over valentines day candy - 4 pieces

Thought on this day ... I did well until dinner. I know I should get back on the Activia yogurts, but they freaking taste like chalk. The Balance Bar is not as good for me as the Zone Perfect bars... but it's almost as good, and it's consistency is easier to eat. Lunch is alright, I prefer the 3 cheese ziti to the alfredo, but the store was out when I went. I like the Ritz crackerful packs better than 100 calorie snack packs. Sure there is only one cracker and it has 130 calories, but it is somehow more satisfying. Oranges are always good. Dinner was HELLA fattening... but I love cooking and this is one of my favorite things to make. Cooking calms me down the way yoga calms some people down. It brings me back to center. I made myself a deal by getting the Smart Taste pasta, which is made with whole grains and wheat bread for the garlic bread... but still, it had more calories than the rest of the day combined. And I really wish we (Re: MARC) would finish off the candy so I stop picking at it at night.

Also, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, need to start exercising. I own a Wii, with a Wii fit... maybe I need you all to start belittling me each day that I don't work out. I always work out more under pressure. I used to live with a girl who dragged me to the gym all the time, and I was in much better shape then.

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Yes, I know, I fell off the wagon again... both on trying to eat better, and on trying to document my efforts. But I think that this blog will help me in seeing if my efforts are seasonally based (because I don't need to be in a swimsuit in February) ... or if exercise is easier for me when rugby's being played (and someone will make me feel guilty if I don't show) ... So I think even falling off the wagon may help in the future. We shall see.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Breakfast
Yogurt - Fiber One - Strawberry

Ahhh, I need to buy fruit. Also, I know I was supposed to stay on those activia ones, but they tasted like CHALK! And I had a coupon for this kind. The end.

Mid morning snack
Zone perfect bar - Dark Chocolate Mocha

Hard to believe these things only have 180 calories and have soooo much protein. I love them.

Lunch
Salad = spinach, red leaf lettuce, tomatoes, onions, roasted chicken, 2 tbsp 100 island

I like my salads

Mid afternoon snack
100 calorie snack pack - nip cheese crackers
Carrot sticks

I have to get another vegetable choice. Maybe green peppers or green beans. I like those. Mmmmm cheesy crackery goodness... all 8 tiny crackers of it.

Dinner
Eggs Florentine & 90 Calorie Roasted Potatoes (that go in the microwave!)

This is because I have to go grocery shopping, I was forced to eat what was left in the house. Which included tasty, tasty calorie packed hollendaise sauce. Then I ate some Valentine's Day candy... just to stay fat. BAH! However, I did have some exercise tonight, in the form of the horizontal Irish Jig. 0:-) ... they say sex burns a BUNCH of calories!

Monday, February 15, 2010

Monday, February 15, 2010

Breakfast
Yogurt - activia light
Cherry tomatoes

I forgot to buy fruit this week thus far, but I like tomatoes better than bananas, so I'm not sad.

Mid morning snack
Zone perfect bar - dark chocolate mocha

I like these

Lunch
Smart Ones - Southwestern wrap

Gotta love when a company makes something that gives you the appropriate amount of veggies, protein and grains per meal - LITTLE high on the sodium though.

Afternoon snack
100 calorie snack pack - cheese nip crackers
Carrot sticks

Man the crackers are so much tastier, and I'm allowed to have so few of them as compared to the carrots.

Dinner
Honey Chipoltle Encrusted Salmon
Lemon Butter Noodles
Southwestern Corn Mix

The noodles are the best part, and I have to have such a small portion of them. But everything else is spicy and tasty!

The worst part, is that I followed this up with entirely too much Valentine's day candy! Cause it was on sale, and cheap today, and chocolate makes me happy. Boo. No weight loss looking possible this week. Must put exercise on the to-do list.

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Well we've narrowly avoided a Friday the 13th for this month. That being said, here goes nothing.

Breakfast
Banana

No yogurt, because I have to work at the Home Depot this morning, and that stuff is hard to eat on the go.

Mid morning snack
Zone bar, dark chocolate mocha

These things really help me get through the morning.

Lunch
Salad - spinach, red leaf lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, 2tbsp 1000 island
Soup - Campbell's soup-to-go New England clam chowder

I could probably eat a variant of soup/salad lunch every day and never get sick of it ... that's 1 good thing I've got going for this diet

Mid afternoon snack
100 calorie snack pack crackers - nip cheese
Carrot sticks

I have to vary the carrot sticks with other veggie snacks, otherwise I'm going to lose my mind.

Dinner
Cheesecake Factory's Spicy Chicken Chipoltle Pasta

This thing has more calories than a week of lunch and breakfast, but it is SOOOOO tasty. And we were out because out-of-town friends were IN town. Which call for celebration!

After dinner
Beers

Too many empty calories in beers. I wish there was a calorie free alcoholic beverage that did not taste like gin.

Friday, February 12, 2010

Friday, Feburary 12, 2010

Breakfast
Activia light yogurt, strawberry
Banana

The activia yogurt still tastes like chalk. And banana's are not my fav, but I need the potassium.

Mid-morning snack
Zone bar, dark chocolate mocha

I could learn to like these things, they're ALMOST like candy

Lunch
Salad - spinach, red leaf lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, roasted check, 2tbsp 1000 island dressing
Soup - Campbells 2 go, tomato

I always like lunch like this, it's tasty .

Afternoon snack
Carrot sticks
100 calorie crackers - nip cheese

The crackers are of course tastier and there are never enough of them

Dinner
Chicken, broccoli alfredo
Garlic bread

SOOOOOO many carbs, sooooooo much fat. But the boyfriend ordered take-out, and it was my favorite, what's a girl to do?

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Alright, back on track. Packed a full bag of food today, because I have to hit up both jobs. Awesome. I'm ready to get back towards losing 30 lbs and toning some abs, so that in vacay photos this year, I will look H-O-T-T... that's right 2 Ts.

Breakfast
Activia Light Yogurt, strawberry
Banana

Apparently this Activia yogurt is also supposed to help regulate my digestive system and make me feel healthier. We shall see Activia, we shall see. I really need to buy some disposable cups and start making my breakfast into a shake. I would be much happier with my breakfast if it were blended and frozen. Mmmmm, frozen.

Mid-morning snack
Zone Perfect Bar, Dark Chocolate Mocha

This thing is MUCH tastier than those balance fruit bars. (Not that it's actually tasty at all) and it's got more protein and only 20 more calories. I think I've hit upon the protein bar winner ladies and gents.

Lunch
Salad: spinach, red leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, 2tsbp 1000 island dressing, roasted lean meat chicken
Campbell's soup to go, tomato

I actually enjoy this lunch, it makes me happy. Granted, it would make me happier if there were croutons on the salad. But those are carbs, and carbs are evil.

Mid afternoon snack
100 Calorie Snack Pack - Nip Cheese Crackers

Oh man, there are so few of these, and they are sooooo tasty. I guess this is why I buy them in 100 calorie packs... so I don't EAT a whole box.

Dinner
Smart Ones Flatbread Wrap, Mozzerella & Chicken & Roasted Peppers
Carrot sticks

The Smart Ones this is actually quite tasty, not quite as good as the Lean Cuisine's ... but SOs were on sale, and oh, I had a coupon, making them uber cheap and what I'm eating this week.

Late night snack
Two pieces whole grain toast, with tiny bit of Olivio

Man, I can't seem to stop the late night snacking can I? I tried to have an orange, really I did, but my body is still craving the carbs. AND I did no exercise today, because if I had, I'd feel less guilty about the bread. Ah well, better luck tomorrow I hope.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

I know, I've been on hiatus.

Due to a serious bout with the flu, even though I had my flu shot this year, I was eating whatever I wanted, not exercising, and not really giving a rat's behind about the results. I just wanted to get better, and to be able to breath out of my nose again. So having nearly achieved those two things, I hope to start up on recording my eating and exercising habits again tomorrow.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

I suppose I should start out with the fact that I don't add any drink calories to my day ever. All I slug during the day is water, or calorie free coffee. So if you're wondering why I apparently don't drink anything during the day... don't worry, I do, it's just all calorie-free, so I don't record it.

Tuesday, trying to be better.

Breakfast
- Apple (roma)
- Yogurt (Dannon Light, strawberry)

Basic stuff. Apple again, very good. Yogurt, palatable, not really what I'd LIKE to eat for breakfast, because I would really like a McDonald's McGriddle and cinnamon buns... but whatever, the yogurt only has 80 calories, so it wins.

Lunch
- Leftover pasta (normal healthy serving size)
- Carrot sticks and fresh green beans

I LOVE the pasta. LOVE it. Thankfully I used the whole grain pasta, so I'm not feeling as guilty, and it was only one serving size... The veggies are alright, I love the green beans, the carrots I just eat because they're good for my eyes and I'm trying to keep full.

Midafternoon snack
- Balance Bar (Cherry Pecan)

At this point, I may as well be eating glue. These things are disgusting. I may go back to the chocolate covered ones, because really for an extra 40 or so calories and least I won't want to GAG every time I have to consume my protein bar.

Dinner
- Tuna sandwich, no mayo, a bit of dressing, whole grain bread.
- Banana

Scarfed again on a 15 minute break at job 2... I'm not sure eating this fast is healthy. I miss the mayo on the tuna sandwich. Tuna is better with mayo. And I buy the olive oil mayo, so it's not AS bad as the regular stuff. Lemon pepper vinaigrette is so much better for you though. Banana, all right. I much prefer banana bread... but I seriously must lose some weight.

After dinner snack.
- 4 pieces bruschetta - on whole grain italian bread

I really must stop eating at night, but I am SOOOOO tired and hungry after leaving the Home Depot, where I went straight after my day job. Sooo tired, so hungry, and food makes me feel better. And I feel somewhat better because the cheese was fat free, the bread was whole grain, the dressing was fat free, and all that's left was the veggies... so it's not like I ate a box of chocolates and some potato chips... but still.

Exercise - none really, I was standing for a few hours at the Depot, but I don't think that counts.

Monday, January 18, 2010

I swear, I will get this New Year's Resolution to lose 30 pounds down, I will. My problem is, I love food. Love it. Especially carbs and sugar. Nothing makes you feel better than a whole bowl of pasta with bread, washed down by a whole box of chocolates. Upon finishing, you sit there thinking... "This, this is why the struggle to the top of the food chain was worth it." And nothing would make you happier than eating like that all the time, the problem is, nothing will make you fatter than eating like that all the time.

And as a modern American woman, the last thing I want to be is fat. Both on an appearance scale, and on the "I would like to be able to run up a flight of stairs without passing out" scale, as well as the "I don't want to die of diabetes/cholesterol/various assorted other problems" scale.

So my diet. My diet makes me unhappy. And currently I am working two jobs, which leaves less time to exercise, more time to stress, and more reasons to eat.

So today, I pack a bag of food for all three meals, because I will be leaving the house at 7 am, and not returning until 9:30 p.m.

Breakfast
- Apple (roma)
- Yogurt (Dannon Light, lime)
- Balance Bar (very berry)

The apple is good, the yogurt is stomachable, and the balance bar is JUST PLAIN AWFUL, it hurts to get it down. But it has protein, and is half the calories of it's chocolate-covered companions. But it's awful, this is why I used to eat the choco-covered ones.

Lunch
- Salad with grilled chicken, red lettuce, spinach, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers & two tbsp of Thousand Island dressing.
- Campbell's Cream of Tomato soup-to-go

The salad is good. Good thing I chose so many varieties of veggies to put in, I don't get bored. And the Thousand Island dressing may not be low fat, but it has the same calories as the Balsamic Vinaigrette I bought, and the low fat dressing are all sugar and carbs anyway. I'd rather have the real calories and the taste. Soup is good as well.

Mid - afternoon snack
- Carrot stick and fresh green beans.

Eaten while driving home. To try and keep me full and from getting a candy bar while at job two. Success.

Dinner
- Tuna sandwich with a TINY bit of mayo on whole grain bread.
- Banana

Both decent. Eaten in a rush while on 15 mins break at job 2.

After dinner snack
- Plate of pasta and two piece bruschetta, left over from last week's pasta making extravaganza.

I should not have done this, I should not have done this. Everyone knows that the worst thing in the world for you is calories before bed. But I kinda worked out at job two, I ended up pushing all the carts in the parking lot in by myself, because there was no lot person assigned, and no one else was available to help. Still, I don't think I burned the calories that I ate. But I felt SO MUCH BETTER before I went to bed. That's the problem. The food makes me feel good. And less stressed.

Exercise for the day - pushing the carts in at the Home Depot, it made me break a sweat at one point, and I did it for about 40 minutes.
